The purpose of Luke was to give an orderly account of Jesus’ earthly ministry, death, and resurrection. In addition there are some very important themes throughout the Gospel such as Jesus’ fulfilment of OT prophecy, His mission to seek and save the lost, which included an interest in helping the outcast, the despised, Gentiles, and an emphasis on prayer, wealth, the Holy Spirit, and the so called divine reversal.
