The purpose of the Book of Judges is to give a spiritual history of God’s people after settling into the Promised Land and to show how the people’s spiritual condition effected the nation’s situation. In addition, the book presents how much God hates sin and that it destroys a relationship with Him, as well as its devastating effect on the community. On the other hand, it also speaks to the Lord’s patience, love, and mercy toward the Israelites, by repeatedly sending faithful judges to bring the nation back to God. The goal is to grow in our faith and to encourage one another to maintain a faithful godly life.
