Class time: Dec 4 – Feb 26, Wednesday evenings, 7:45 – 8:30
Brief devotional starting at 7:30
Teacher: Floyd Williamson
Location: Room 108
A modern-day application of the Book of Revelation is best understood by first considering the Old Testament sources, Hebrew apocalyptic literature, and the historical context of the first Century. In the study of Revelation, we will examine history, the symbolism, the use of numbers, and the use of images from different sources in the context of a strong contrast between good and evil. We need to read, study, and learn God’s message from the Book of Revelation. “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near” (Revelation 1:3). The goals of this class are to encourage everyone to read the Book of Revelation, to provide information in understanding the rich message of the book, and to make a relevant application for the church today.
